Where am I working? The Sonke Gender Justice Network, an NGO promoting gender equality in post-apartheid South Africa with projects aimed at preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS, decreasing father absenteeism, and improving prison conditions among many others.
Favorite experience in SA so far? Visiting the Albert Street School in Joburg, which is mostly comprised of Zimbabwean refugees
Favorite places in Cape Town so far? Old Biscuit Mill and Camps Bay
Favorite speaker so far: Paul Verryn, a minister at the Methodist Church of South Africa in Johannesburg. However, Bill, Bob, and Ama’s discussion on the history of race in the U.S. is an extremely close second.
Favorite food right now? Malva pudding, naturally.
